I am also descended from McIlrath's (immigrated from Ireland)

Check posts by Bernie Goodhart) he has corresponded with me about the four brothers and McIlrath's still living on a McIlrath farm. I have not been able to connect but this certainly sounds like a connection for you.

Also I found many McIlrath's (from the four brothers) living in Ohio.

Hopefully you will get a response from someone in the know.
