Timothy T. McHugh Sr. (1931-2010) of Chicago, IL
Timothy T. McHugh Sr. Timothy T. "Tim" McHugh Sr., 79, of Dowagiac, Mich., died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010. Mr. McHugh was born in Chicago, Jan. 4, 1931, and was the son of the late Timothy T. and Louise Finley McHugh. Tim grew up in Chicago and attended Mount Carmel High School. He was part of the 1950 football team that was dubbed by many as the greatest ever in Illinois. Mr. McHugh earned All-State and All-American honors. In 1990 he and his wife Diane retired to Dowagiac. He is survived by his wife, Diane Alexander McHugh; two sons, Timothy (Maryrose) and Matthew; four daughters, Anne Alexander, Bernadette (Steve) Gingrass, Erin (Bob) Schmitt and Michelle (Scott) Descourouez; two stepsons, Dale and Mark Alexander; two stepdaughters, Kim (Steve) Garrelts and Wendy (J.D.) Alexander; 12 beloved grandchildren; his brother, John; and sisters, Patricia Coffey, Ellen Pole and Josephine Stefanatos. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann M. Coghlan McHugh; brothers, George, Bill and Ed; and sisters, Shirley McHugh and Louise Weston. A memorial celebration will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at St. Charles Place, 2550 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association .
