Hello - I am looking for more info on this family.

Charles McHugh (b c1858-d. after 1901) and Ellen McDease (b. c1858-d. before 1901).

Charles and Ellen were married in Bannagh RC Chapel in Pettigo Parish, in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh. At the time, Charles (a farmer) lived in Killgarnan, Pettigo, and Ellen lived in Killmore, Pettigo. Charles' father was Bernard McHugh, Ellen's father was William McDease. Charles and Ellen were married on 25 Nov 1880.

Charles and Ellen had 4 surviving children:
Mary (Minnie)b. 15 Aug 1881, Carn, Pettigo, Donegal
d. 1951, Lower Merion, Pennsylvania, USA
Catherine (Kate) b. 5 Feb 1883, Carn
d. 20 Oct 1918, Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA
Charles b.10 Feb 1893, Carn
Thomas b. c.1897, Carn

The family can be found on the 1901 Ireland Census, living in Carn, Pettigo, Donegal. Charles is listed as a widower on this census, so Ellen died prior to 1901. Since all four of the children went to America in 1903, it is likely that Charles died before or in 1903.

All four siblings came through Ellis Island in 1903, and I know a great deal about what happened to them here in the US. I am greatly interested in extending the family history back farther than Charles and Bernard.

If anyone knows more about Bernard McHugh or William McDease (or even Charles and Ellen), I would love to hear from you!

Kerry
