Hello All -

I have a McHugh family from Pettigo, County Donegal. I am hoping someone else can make a connection to mine, and fill in some of the ancestry!

Catherine McHugh was born in Pettigo, Donegal 25 Jan 1884. She arrived at Ellis Island in NY 11 March 1903, along with older sister Mary and younger brothers Charles and Thomas. There may have been other siblings that remained behind in Ireland.

Catherine and her siblings then stayed with their uncle Charles McHugh in Philadelphia until they married.

Catherine married George Gans, Jr., and died in the flu epidemic on 23 Oct 1918.

Catherine's parents were Thomas McHugh and Helen McDeace. I have no further information on them, although family lore suggests they both died before or around 1903.

I would love to find more information on Thomas McHugh and/or Helen McDeace.
