McHugh, John J.
Deacon John J. McHugh, 87, a 22 year resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Chicago. At Peace with the Angels on April 24, 2009. He was born March 6, 1922 in Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan, Ireland. Loving husband of 54 years of Ann, cherished father of Denis (Shannon), Aidan Patrick, Conor McHugh, Ann Marie (Kevin) Shanahan and Catherine Rose (Eric) Hoagland, proud grandfather of Katie and Karen McHugh, Kathleen and Michael Shanahan, Emma and Hugh Hoagland, dear brother of Patrick and Thomas McHugh, Nan Nash, Kitty Flood, Rose Dalton, and the late Cissy Steele, Hugh and Owen McHugh, uncle of many. John was ordained to the permanent diaconate on December 8, 1978 at Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago. He served as a deacon at St Mary Star of the Sea Parish, Chicago and at St Raphael Parish, Naperville. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of A.O.H. For those who prefer, memorials in John's name may be made to the Diaconate Assistance Fund, 402 S. Independence Blvd, Romeoville, 60446. Visitation Sunday, April 26, 2:00 until 7:00 p.m., at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill, Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 27, 10:00 a.m. at St Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville. Interment will follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
