Trying to do a direct line of McHugh & Hurley families.
John McHugh wed Marie Hurley.
I was given an internet site to obtain a marriage license copy.
No parents on these documents. .
John McHugh wed Marie Bridget Hurley license says July 30 1940
Cook county clerk Michael Flynn
John McHugh was 23 yrs old & Marie Hurley was 20 yrs.
Marriage solemnized at St Genevieve Church, Aug 3 1940 by Rev Edward L. Kilroy? not very clear & I'm guessing.
But it was a catholic priest.
Address 4835 Altzeld St in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois
All this paper says.
That means if it's correct John McHugh was born in 1917 & Marie Hurley was born in 1920?
I'm new at this stuff in the USA as I live in Canada & this is my first shot out of my country so haven't a clue.
-census?
-telephone directories?
-newspapers for births & deaths?
-cemetery listings?
In Canada I know how to proceed but not in another country.
Can anyone help me finding this couples parents?
