My notes for Samuel McHenry, son of a Barnabas McHenry follow:
Per will of Barnabas McHenry (died 1754), Samuel was named as the oldest son.
If he had to be 21 when he sold property in 1754, then born before October 1733.
Per Virginia Historical Magazine, issue unknown, Notes and Queries, pp 73, article "Boundary Line Between Augusta and Frederick" (see file).
See Deed Book 1, page 310.
From "Early Records of Hampshire, Co., Virginia", Gage and Jones: 10/1/1754; grantor, Samuel McHendry; grantee, Stephen Ruddell; 400 acres on Lost River; recorded June 1755; witnesses: William Baker, Joseph Carroll, John Stackhouse.
This is the same 400 acres of land originally held by Barnabas and mentioned in the land survey of 1743.
See "Frontier Forts Along The Potomac and Its Tributaries", Wm. H. Ansel, Jr, 1984.
