Very interesting about the 1916 book. I am wondering if it has any portraits or engravings on any of the people. My family inhereted some oil painting from the King side of our family, and have been trying to identify the sitters. We have so far identified only one of them, as Rufus Howard King (1794-1867), and I'm still working on the rest. It is possible, we think, that one of our portraits may be of Joshua King, Anne Ingersoll, or any of their 10 or so other children. To connect things up for you, Joshua King married Anne Ingersoll in Ridgefield CT in 1784. The had many children. Three of the children -- Rufus Howard King, Ann Maria King and Sophia King -- moved from CT to Albany. In Albany, Rufus Howard King formed a partership with the Albany dry goods Merchant William McHarg -- this William McHarg was Rufus Howard King's brother-in-law, having married his sister Sophia King. Rufus Howard King had a son, Rufus Howard King (II), who had a son Thomas White King, who was my great grandfather. Anyway, please let me know if there are any likenesses in the 1916 book. Also, I am starting a new posting (check the main McHarg board) where a quote a book about William and Rufus's business venture, in case you're interested.
