I was very interested in your posting. My name is Marie McHargue McCumber. I am the daughter of Walter Albert McHargue, the brother of William Arthur McHargue, who at one time lived in Livermore, CA. Uncle "Jack" (as William Arthur was called), married a hispanic lady in California, whose name, I seem to recall, may have been Lulu. They had one daughter, named Gladys (she was named after daddy and Uncle Jack's sister, Gladys McHargue French). Uncle Jack died in the late '50s, and, though the family tried, we could not locate his wife or daughter. Before Aunt Gladys died, she said some years ago, someone from California called her and told her that "Lulu" and Gladys had burned to death in a house fire. Gladys would have been around my age now, give or take a year or two; I am 72. Could this be the Gladys you refer to? If so, any information you have would truly be appreciated. Thanks. Marie McCumber. mmccumber@mchsi.com.
