Marla,

So nice to have a quick response.
Thank you.
Yes, it does seem like it is taking them a long time.
A Mrs. John (Isabel) McGuire in Kansas compiled a very good genealogy of John McGuire 1756 for her husband. She was featured in the DAR Daughters Magazine in July. We corresponded with her. She felt confident our application would go through.
She has all the works of Mrs. Dayton Royse included in her book.
I guess no news is good news.
We used a couple of articles from "The Kentucky Explorer", Jan. 1997 and another, "Three John McGuires of Early Kentucky" by Ruth Moran from the "Kentucky Ancestors" Vol 30-1, 1994, for our published documentation.

Am hoping that along with the naming pattern for James and Sarah's children and the census showing two elderly adults in James's household in 1820, will give the genealogist reason to evaluate us favorably.

My prospective member obtained a Bible page many years ago from a relative that has the names
Josephine Robinson b. March? 3, 1811
Elizabeth Meyers b. July 26th 1811
John Robinson b. August 19th 1857

then in another handwriting is a list of James and Sarah's children with birth dates
"Jesse B? McGuire was born July the 11th?? 1862
Mary M. McGuire was born ???ember the 19th 1867
Rebecca M. E. McGuire was born October 9th 1865"

then, in another handwriting, on the other column under 'deaths' is listed
"John McGuire died April the 10th 1837 aged 81
Nancy McGuire his wife died May the 2 day 1837 aged about the same"

across from Jesse's name is "and died March the 11th 1864"

We do not have the title page to the Bible. The relative was living at the time in Pike County, Ohio, I think.
My perspective member was born in Pike County, Ohio. This could possibly be a family member of Mary Margaret McGuire who marrid John Phillips.

any thoughts???

Thanks again for your encouragement.
Pat
