In "Last Frontiers of Kentucky" by Henry Scalf (2000), he mentions this William and a wife named "Mary".

There is a William McGuire 1748-1829 who married Mary Shirley, he was a cousin of our William and was captured at Martin's Station KY by the British in 1780. That line ended up in TN.

There was a William McGuire b. 1804, son of Rev. Cornelius (our William's brother) who married Mary "Polly" Stratton.

I have William James McGuire, son of Joseph as marrying his cousin Rachel Wingo.

I do not know anything about a Brewster. Is that from the Annals of Tazewell? It could be a second wife to one of the above Williams.

Hope that helps.
