That is a connection I did not know about Wanda. Certainly more circumstantial evidence that this William married a Lockhart - but still not enough evidence for my skeptical mind.
Lt. William also served at Fort Randolph under Arbuckle around the time Cornstalk was murdered (1777). This service is mentioned in his pension application. In Pendelton's history, William is mentioned as being at King's Mountain (1780), but that seems too big an event to not be in his pension application. He mentions going to the Moravian towns,(Winston-Salem NC) but no other details.
Arbuckle's Fort on Muddy Creek, Greenbrier County was active in 1774 during Lord Dunmore's War, and William enlisted in Greenbrier per his pension app.
