Robert J. McGuire, age 81, of New Lenox for 18 years, formerly of Chicago, passed away Sept. 19, 2009; a patrolman for the Chicago Police Department for 32 years until his retirement in 1984, also a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force. He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Margaret, nee Flaherty, McGuire; children, Maribeth (Tom) Matuszak, Teresa McGuire, Michael (Michele) McGuire, David McGuire and John (Colleen) McGuire; grandchildren, Maura, Nicholas, Matthew, Timothy, Michael, Kayligh, T.J., Andrew, John, Danny and Ryan; many nieces and nephews. Two late brothers, James (Catherine) McGuire and Phillip McGuire and his late parents, James and Elizabeth McGuire. Family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 from 3 until 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park.
