Do you have any information on the history of Ellen Nora McGuire's husband William Randall Hill? (These are my gggrandparents.) I know they married 1871, had 11 children, lived variously in Jefferson, Shelby, Bibb counties. Ellen died 1904 and William died 1905. They're buried in Jefferson County. I cannot find ancestral information for William. It makes it difficult when the 1900 Census lists his middle initial as "D" when family oral history says his middle name was Randall. I suppose he could have had two middle names, perhaps William Randall Douglas Hill, much like Stephen Arnold Douglas McGuire.
What is your relationship to John L. McGuire/Britta Ann Green McGuire Flyn?
I am the granddaughter of George Douglas Hill, eldest child of William & Ellen Nora Hill.
Do you get to Alabama often for research? I live in the Midwest and plan to make a research trip there in approx. February/March 2010. Any ideas/suggestions for finding data on William and Ellen would be appreciated.
