McGuffin - Furr Shenandoah Valley

My grandmother, Edith (Lyons) Furr, remembered that the middle name of a direct ancestor of her husband, Elmer Furr, was McGuffin. The name McGuffin was from a mother.

I have traced the Furr family to William M. Furr (Fur on Census of 1850) to Rockbridge County, Virginia. His wife was Frances H.

I would appreciate any information you could give me about a possible connection -- I'm sure there was one -- between our Furr family and the McGuffin family of Rockbridge County. I am interested in the locale, churches attended, etc. I understand that there was a Furr's mill just a mile off Highway 11 (old Shenandoah Pike), near Lexington.

Thank you for your help. If there is any information I can send you, let me know.
