I read your post from the McGuffey forum on February 26, 2006... In it you stated that Cas's wife Sara Bastin was the child of Alexander Bastin. After research of census records, I have found that the Sarah Ella Bastin daughter of Alexander was born in 1875, 10 years after the Sara Ella Bastin married to Cas. She also shows as Ella Bastin on the 1900 census report with the 1875 birth year with Alexander. That same year shows Sarah married to Cas since 1886. making the 1875 Sarah 11 years old. While not impossible, highly unlikely. I did find a Sarah E. Bastin with the birth year 1863. She would be about the right age. She is on the 1870 and 1880 censuses with Father Samuel C. Bastin and Mother Eliza... in 1880 Grandfather William Bastin and uncle Elija Bastin show up. From the census evidence, I would say this is the correct lineage for Sarah.
