Hi Mary,
Thank you for the help. Before your posting I had been going through the census on www.genealogy.com and www.familysearch.org and your posting has brought up some questions. The Familysearch census is not a copy of the actual census. The Genealogy census is an actual copy and it is hard to make out some of the names. *=not sure of the spelling. S=son, D=daughter. In the Genealogy.com copy of the 1870 census I found a Jesse(age33) and *Ditha A.(age26) McGuffey with the following children: William E.(S,11), Tobias W.(S,9), Liond(D,7), Cassey B.(D,6), *Amarilla(D,5), James M.(S,3), Ann E.(D,3m). In the Familysearch 1880 census it shows a Jessey (age43)and Dartha A.(age40) McGuffey with the following children: Bias W.(S,20), Casabanca (D,16), Amarellis (D,14), James M.(S,12), Anny E.(D,10), Mary F.(D,8), Louvina (D,5), Nancy L.(D,3), Lara J(D,3m). In the Genealogy.com copy of the 1910 census I found a William B.(age49) and Mary M.(age43) McGuffey with the following children: Edward(S,18), *Namio(D,17), Fred(S,15), *Psker(S,13), Anna(D,9), Walter(S,6), James(S,2). * Ditha could be Dartha and Psker could be Oscar and Namio could be Neta. Could Tobias Willoby McGuffey be William B. in the 1910 census? The ages and other names all seem to be right. What do you think.
Happy New Year from Michael Earl McGuffey son of Louis Earl and Anna Florence (Smith) McGuffey
