There was a possible cousin of James Lane McGuffey, b.1797 in DeKalb Co., GA, who married Mary Gordon in 1820. He was James M. McGuffey (b.1794), who married Sarah Gordon in 1814. Was this a sister of Mary?
He had a daughter Sarah Ann, (1820-1863)and son Phillip Hawkins Gabel (1827-1900) who both seem to have moved to Walker Co., GA. Who were his other sons and daughters, and did any end up in MS? How was he related to James Lane McGuffey?
