The 1820 census record for Edmund and family in Smith Co. TN has a family makeup consistent with the approximate ages of Jacob, James, and Jesse. It indicates that Edmund is the father and not the older James.It appears that all of these sons had children named Edmund. Jesse had a son Edmund by his second wife.Jacob had a son named Edmund born 1834.I don't have the details on James, but it appears that in all the families coming down from Edmund use this name. John and Abraham each had an Edmund.
