Civil War Letter, Atlanta and Thanks...

We have owned Mr. Hill's geneology for some time, but I had no idea so many discoveries and improvements had been made in documenting John McGriff's family. Many, many thanks for your contributions here, which I'm only beginning to digest.

Below are a few random questions and comments...

I'm in the Joe Lee:James Alton branch of the family from Dekalb County and Jackson County, Alabama. I live in Norcross, Georgia and recently discovered that McGriffs, prior to the Civil War, owned property near the Chattahoochee River in the area that is now Bolton Road. I found this on the internet last year, but cannot pull up any references now. Do you have any information related to this internet posting -- I wish I had more information.

Also, I was curious if someone on the board had seen the letter from a McGriff in the 2002 book, "From Fields of Fire and Glory: Letters of the Civil War."

Many thanks,
