Robert Stewart my G/G/Grandfather born 1822/1831 possibly Bannockburn or Edinburgh-St Cuthberts - married Jane Ferguson 1824-1891 04 Dec 1853 Glasgow Lanarkshire (elopement) Her parents John Ferguson c1793 possibly Kilmadock..Jean/Janet McGrigor c1794 Kincardine by Doune, they married 18 Mar 1821. Children of that marriage
Peter 1822, John 1823 Janet 1824,Mary 1825, Alexander 1826, Christian 1826, John 1826, Alexander 1830..assume the first John 1823 died and that Alexander and Christian were twins and that Alexander also died..they carried on the Scottish tradition of re-using name's. Possibility that Jean McGrigor's parents were Alexander and Janet McGrigor (but have yet to prove it !!! there are so many Ferguson/McGrigors in the Perthshire area. Added to the mix Janet Ann Stewart youngest daughter of Robert and Jane Ferguson married a Peter McGregor Stewart at Deanstone in 1896.
