Jack Owen McGreevy, 68, of 335 Fort Avenue, Keyser, W.Va., died Monday, February 4, 2008, at the Memorial Campus of the Western Maryland Health System, Cumberland, Md.
Born August 27, 1939, in Keyser, he was a son of the late Owen John McGreevy and Nellie Rebecca (Newhouse) McGreevy Shuff.
Mr. McGreevy was retired from the Westvaco Luke Mill with 41 years of service. He was a 1957 graduate of Keyser High School and served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed golfing and making golf clubs and was an avid gun and coin collector.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Linda L. (Oss) McGreevy; three sons, Troy Dean McGreevy and wife, Denise, of Petersburg, W.Va., Lance Eric McGreevy and fiancé, Jennifer Shaw, of Keyser, and Terry Shawn McGreevy and wife, Mitzi, of Keyser; one daughter, Jaclyn Gail Turk and husband, Shawn, of High Shoals, Ga.; two half-brothers, Edward Shuff of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Brad Shuff of Fredericktown, Ohio; and one half-sister, Linda Neer of Mt. Vernon.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Lynmarie Long, Julianne McGreevy, Shawna Weatherholtz, Luke and Brady McGreevy, Kyle, Dylan and Noah Hartman and Jeremy Turk; and three great-grandchildren, Zoe Long, Cannan McGreevy and Corbyn Duckworth.
At Mr. McGreevy's request there will be no public visitation or services.
Private family graveside services will be conducted at the Queen's Point Cemetery, Keyser.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to either the American Diabetes Association, 1660 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314; or to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
