Joseph P. MCGREEVY 25 Stanton St, Newark, NJ, a former resident of this city dropped dead Sunday while waiting for a bus at Hillside, NJ. He was a watchman at Kraft Food Hillside, NJ.
Mr. MCGREEVY lived in Scranton most of his life moving to NJ 6 years ago. He was the son of the late John and Mary HOGAN MCGREEVY; a member of St. Colombia Church in Newark. Surviving are his wife the former Nora CLIFFORD, Avoca; Bernard with the US Navy Chicago, IL; Patrick, Newark; Daughter Mrs Donald MORAN, Newark;3 brothers John, associated with JACKSON & MCGREEVY Service Station; William, Scranton and three sisters Miss Mary MCGREEVY, Ohio; Mrs James DAVITT, Brooklyn, NY; and Mrs Chester OBERLEY, Fort Wayne, IN; and 6 grandchildren;
The body will arrive Scranton tomorrow and be taken to the home of his brother in law William MCSORLEY 1812 Academy St. Services will be held Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with interment Cathedral Cemetery.
