Will of Peter Starnes--Source is Willo Institute Vol. #12, Fairfield Co. Wills 1773-1797 Book 2, page 39. Peter Starnes, Wife Margaret (her sons Arthur and John Parr, her daughters Mary Irwin, Esther McGraw, Margaret McGraw) his sons Charles, Ebenezer, Levi, Joel, Joshua and Peter, his daughters Rhoda Macgrew? Therma Free, will dtd. 12/28/1789 and proved 9/20/1791 witnessed by David McGraw, Jr., Owen Andr3es, Elisha Hunter.

Item: to my wife Margaret STARNS one feather bed and furniture, two cows and calves, all my swine, one horse, saddle, one bridle, the horse the choice of any that is my property, one iron pot, 2 spinning wheels, a large one and a small one, one plow and geers and a third part of the Remainder of all the moveables of my whole Estate to her and her heirs forever. Also I lend to her the use of my Plantation whereon I now dwell and the premises during her widowhood and the remainder of the moveables if she chooses to keep it together.

Item: I have six of my eldest children, four sons and two daughters, viz. my four sons Charles, Ebenezer, Levi and Joel STARS, my tw daughters Rhoda MCGRAW and Thamar Free I have already bestowed on them such legacies as I have ability to do, and as so I give and bequeath unto each and every one of them one Shilling Sterling to them and their Heirs forever.

Item: My two younger sons, Joshua and Peter STARNS...remainder of moveables and 116 acres whereon Inow live to be equally divided between them...forever beginning at Edward McGraw's West corner and running s west line to Col. Hunter's line and Joshua to have the part whereon I now live, and if either of my two younger sons mentiond should die the other shall have the part left to the two and if they should both die before they come of age to receive their inheritance, that legacies bequeathed to them should be equally divided by lawful sale and the forementioned land containing 116 acres be sold for to be equally divided, and on half the money divided between my six children and the other half be equally divided between my wife's two sons Arthur and John Parr and as for moeveables to be divided between my daughter Thamer Free and my wife's three daughters Mary Arwin (Irwin?) Ester McGraw and Margaret McGraw and I appoint John Parr ato act as Executor with my wife, Margaret Starns Executrix. dtd. 12/28/1789 and proved 9/20/1791, Witnesses David McGraw, Jr., Owen Andrews, Elisha Hunter. Proved (another date discrepancy by 7 days being 13 Sept 1791, Recorded Will Book 1, page 125 9/21/1791
