My husband has deep pre-Revolutionary to early 1800 SC history in Fairfield Dist., SC of the McGraw, Gibson, Jones families. In 1759 Solomon McGraw and Ann, his wife bought land in SC and this land was witnessed by Jacob Gibson. I am sure David Sr. and Jr. both inhabited Fairfield Dist., SC in 1784 as Sr. and Jr. separately as they were the bonds on the administration of the estate of a Patrick Burns, whose widow had married the widow, Rev. Jacob Gibson. I am sure this is Junior who went to Mississippi with the Gibson son of Rev. Jacob, and sons of Jacob Gibson Jr. Many of my own research suggests Solomon had son, David. Also, in Tn. where you site these deeds, David also gave a slave to his son, Nathan (this would be David, Jr.) and this was 1809--before they traveled to Mississippi. I feel pretty sure that the suite between Hance Hamilton in Wilkinson Co., Ms. or Pike Co., Ms. shows that they were debating about some slaves. I think I have ascertained by deeds of Fairfield involving Mary Jones Willingham (sister of Phoebe Jones McGraw, w/o Nathan) shows that John Willingham and Mary his wife, and David McGraw and Mary his wife, lived adj. to each other by a land deed of Fairfield Co., SC and before John's death in 1803...by my memory. My husband descends from Nathan and Phoebe's daughter, Catherine who md. Jacob Gibson in 1819 in Amite Co., Ms. and he was a son of Jacob Gibson and wife Mary Fort Gibson.
