Looking for any info on the above Peter E. McGowan (McGowen, McGowin). He was born in 1817, VA. Parents John J. McGowan and Sarah Ann Holmes. I've found Peter on the 1850 TN census, Bedford Co., but have been unable to find him anywhere in 1860 or 1870. One of his sons, Henry M. McGowan was born in 1854 TN.
