John McGourty, Spanish American War

A John McGourty is buried in the First Parish Cemetery in York, York County, Maine. He died in January 1919 from Lobar Pneumonia complicated by exposure to the Spanish Flu.
A grave marker indicates that he was a veteran of the Spanish American War.

I suspect that he was not a citizen of the Town of York but was here working when he became ill. His name is mentioned in the Town's Annual Reports as having worked for the Road Commissioner. No more is known.

Is anyone missing this John McGourty?

Thank you

Alex
York, Maine
