I have seen the birth record of Charles' brother, Patrick on the LDS website: December 12, 1866, father, Michael McGough, mother, Margaret King.
This Michael McGough could be the brother of my GGF, Thomas McGough. I don't know who Thomas' siblings were, but the timing would be right.
My GF, Patrick McGough was born c. 1870, the first born of Thomas McGough and Bridget Tuohy.
You said you were able to piece together your family through baptismal records. Did these records show that Charles' father, Michael had a brother named Thomas?
Incidentaly, the little village near Castlebar that you mentioned is probably Rahins or Raheens which is just outside Castlebar on the Newport Rd. I have relatives named Cusack and Moraghan from near there.
