Hello Lisa, Yes, I've certainly heard of William Glackin / Glacking / Glacken and Elizabeth Boggs. Done considerable research on them too. I need to ask you: Have you ever seen any shred of actual source material that linked them to Charles M and Mary Hannah McGlothlen? No?, that is because there is none to be found. These two were probably identified as "the" parents solely because of their being in Greenbrier county when Charles M. was born in Greenbrier county. This was picked up by McGlothlen researchers - Yep, Me also - and used in data we released for many years. When I looked into the naming conventions of the time and the names of Charles' kids and Mary's kids, it looked to me like the name of their grandfather would have been John. That is what it turned out to be and the intestate probate files from the Lafayette county, MO court, which led me to John Sr's Rev War pension application files really clinched it. You see, both Charles and Mary are listed as John Sr's kids in the probate file. Thanks for asking, Lisa. You have the "right" ancestral surname for the McGlothlens - Irish - As you are not in our database, mind telling me your McGlothlen family relationship?? Please use my permanent Email address, which is: donmcglothlen@yahoo.com Thanks, Don McGlothlen, McGlothlen Family Historian
