Dear Sarah,

My husbands maternal grandmother was MARTHA KENNEDY, her mother was MARTHA nee McGLASSON born 1859 Canonbie. Her Father was WILLIAM McGLASSON 1834-1905, his wife was MARY IRVING born 1825-? Middlebie. Before these two the link is broken but we think there is a connection with the McGlasson's of Ecclefechan (as this family lore, although we can not prove it yet) as there is also a JANET McGLASSON as witnesss on the marriage certificate of William McGlasson to Mary Irving. The only Janet that we have found so far that fits, is the daughter of ROBERT MCGLASSON born 1818 Ecclefechan and MARY IRVINE Cummertrees. Robert's father was JOHN McGLASSON 1780 and Elizabeth ELLIOT both Ecclefcechan and married 1805.

We saw that both you and Stuart have a Canonbie connection, maybe we have a connection.
