It appears he was Enlisted 7/24/1864 @ Lewisburg, AR Age 21 Born Conway, AR 3rd AR Calvarty Union Co G Applied for Pension 5/7 (year unknown) #365747 Two children William Mary Nothing much on Sarah We think that Newton's parents, Robert and Nancy were our ancestor, Eli Jackson McGinty. It appeaars, however, that Robert and Nancy died before 1860 and the children were either on thier own or went with other family members and many records were lost during a burn out of the records hall during the Civil War.
