My g-grandmother, Georgia Josephine McGill Wiygle, was born 1870, Woodville, Greene County, Alabama, probably d/o John H. McGill, born 1834, Tennessee. Family names picked up from oral tradition include Irene, Clara, Molly,(possibly Mary). Some of them moved to Kaufman, Wood County, Texas, before 1900. Can you see any connection?
I believe they were originally named McGillicuddy.

The McGills are so elusive I wonder if they were hiding from the law.
