I saw your posting and I wanted to share with you what I had from my grandfather. I hope this helps.
James C. McGill, son of Thomas McGill, was born in 1812 in Montgomery County, Tn. He came to Benton County, Tn. as a young man and pursued agriculture. His wife, Sarah Ann Herrin McGill, was known as "Annie" to her friends. Her parents were from South Carolina and moved to Franklin County, Tn. where she was born around 1815. She died in 1899 at the age of 84. As far as their children, they had nine.
1. William- Born in 1832
2. Susan
3. Elizabeth P.- Born around 1837. She married Joseph R.Ward on 11-13-1856 in Benton County, Tn.
4. Thomas J.- Born 6-2-1840 in Benton County, Tn.
5. Sarah E.- Born around 1841 in Benton County, Tn.
6. Jahn C.- Born around 1843 in Benton County, Tn.
7. Nancy Ann- born around 1846 in Benton County, Tn. She married David Pafford on 3-18-1866 in Benton County, Tn.
8. Marion C.- Born around 1851 in Benton County, Tn.
9.- Claiburn- Born around 1857 in Benton County, Tn.
