Hi James,
I got half way through a reply when it disappeared.
To continue, the information that I have is sparse but accurate as it is taken from a copy of daughter Ann's marriage certificate. Details as follows:-
On 23rd January 1860 in Springburn, Lanark, Scotland.
Robert Gordon, 23 Blacksmith of Springburn. Father, James Gordon, Railway labourer; Mother, Jane Gordon, Nee Mullen.
to
Ann McGill, 19 Domestic servant of Centre Street, Springburn. Father, John McGill, Captain, 7th Fusiliers, (deceased); Mother, Jane McGill, nee McCauley.
James, if this will help you locate the elusiove John then I would be most grateful for that information, I have been lpost on this one for over two years.
