My GGgrandfather was named Joseph McGibbon bc1849 Rutherglen, Lanarkshire, Sct. His mother was Elizabeth Lochiel and he gave his fathers name as Robert McGibbon on his marriage cert. This is the only place I have seen his fathers name mentioned (haven't found a birth cert. He is living with his mother and grandmother in the 1851 census and his mother married a John Cunningham after this and there is no father given on his death cert.) I know it's not much to go on, but would anyone know of a connection?
