Hello,
I am interested in researching the decendants and forebears of a Micajah McGhee, probably born in North Carolina around 1794. He married Mary Jordan in Marengo County, Alabama on 02 Nov 1826. They lived there for a time evidently on her family's property. To my knowledge they had 3 children...
Susan McGhee, b. 19 May 1829, d. 15 Jun 1898, Talladega, AL.
Addison F. McGhee, b. ca1848
Franklin C. McGhee, b. ca 1850.
Susan McGhee married Julius Alexander Powe, b. 23 Jul 1823 in Kemper County, MS. They went to live in Ouachita Parish, LA, where they had three children:
Mary Jordan Powe, b. 09 Aug 1847, d. 01 Jan 1907, Talledega, AL
Martha Oliver Powe, b. ca 1850
Julius Alexander Powe, jr. b. 13 Aug 1852, d. 11 Apr 1924, Sylacauga, AL.
