Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
It has been a long time since your post; hope you get this, Brenda:
I am descended from Captain Duncan McGeehan through his son, "Curley" John McGeehan. John's son, Duncan McGeehan (III) married Jane Bailey. Their eldest son was named Wiliam. My mother is in posession of the Will of William Bailey, Jane's father. The will is dated 1832 Robinson Twp., Washington Co., PA and mentions, "...my daughter Jane McGeehan.." also, "...my four grandchildren, sons and daughters of Duncan and Jane McGeehan..." I have letters between my g-grandmother, Mabel McGeehan Montgomery and her cousin, Edna McGeehan Thoms that relate the family folklore (which has proven to be remarkably accurate so far)including Duncan and Jane leaving PA in disgrace and moving to Wayne Twp., OH. Many of their descendants are still in the area.
If you are interested in any of this, I would be happy to share what information I have.
