I've done extensive genealogy on my husband's family, the McGeehins of eastern Pennsylvania. They originated in Glenties, Co. Donegal, Ireland, and the first one (Daniel Joseph) was in Hazleton, PA in 1880. From an old text from Ireland, I learned that his family is from the O'Gormley clan. Many folks would argue that McGeehan and McGeehin are the same names, although I know that every McGeehin who ever lived in the US is directly related to my husband, whereas the link to McGeehans, even in the same town, is tenuous. But if you believe that the names are variants of each other, then your clan is likely the O'Gormley clan.
