Seeking descendants of John Ralph McGee and Cassie A. Davis, who married in Mason Co. in 1880. They moved to Brady, TX, where Mr. McGee was a businessman, eventually becoming a lawyer. Supposedly, the couple ended up around Lubbock, TX.
Cassie was daughter of Benjamin F. & Missouri Catherine Johnston Davis of Llano Co. Her sister, Melcena Viola Davis and husband, Thomas Jefferson Wood, also lived in Brady, where Mr. Wood was a store owner.
John Ralph McGee is said to be from the McGee family that lived around Polk Co. TX, being early settlers of a small community near Lake Livingston whose name escapes me, but has something to do with a gun.....perhaps Point Blank??....can't recall offhand.
I am a Davis descendant and have much information on this particular line. The only spotty portion deals with the family of Benjamin F. Davis, a brother to my gggrandfather. There are many unanswered questions regarding him and his family. Except for the 2 daughters, the family seems to disappear around 1870?????
