Hi Stephanie,

Your information on this site appears to show a whole

new line of McGaughey's from Ireland. Most of the

postings on this site relate to the decendents of

William McGaughey, b. 1695 in Ireland. You have Daniel

still in Ireland after 1748. This NEW McGaughey family

line is fascinating. This Daniel may somehow be

related to a brother of our William who did not come

to America. The fact that Authur, his son, did come to

Pennsylvania and married there (Jane Morris of

Pennsylvania) may show he wanted to connect with the

family of our William, some of whom may still have been

there. Over the years postings have been made about a

McGaughey line in Kentucky that have not been tied to

our (William 1695) line. This may finally be this link.

Many McGaughey (1695 line) families have settled in

Ohio and Indiana, and indeed may be connected to the new

McGaughey line. If you look at postings 348, 462, 463,

605, 606, 609, 610, 650, 651, you will see all are asking

about a line that is parallel to, but not connected to

(William 1695). For those of you using the Family Tree

Maker software, I would suggest startig a new Family

Tree for this family separated from (William 1695) and

working with this forum to fill out that tree. In time

we may find the connection, most likely in Ireland, and

bring these two lines together.

Keep up the good work,

Wayne McGaughy
