Greetings: This is all new to me--and very interesting. Somehow missed your ref to a "Gardner McGarity" on my first scroll thru the followups. There was of course a Gardner McGarity in the 24th GA Inf (from Hart Co) from May of 1862 til the bitter end at Appomatox CH, but doubt that he'd be the one that got married in 1810--a son perhaps. Also, a Gardner P McGarity (1861-1946)is buried at the Methodist church in Vannah, GA. Anyway, if you know anything that somehow ties these all together, I would be very interested in hearing from you. FYI, the 24th GA "Gardner" was also listed under "Magarity." Thanks, Bob McG, Springfield, VA
