After posting my other message i noticed this one off you, so here goes.
My dad is Richard Hill McGarrity who married Catherine Walsh, his dad was Alexander preston McGarrity who married Marion McMurray King, his dad was Richard Hill McGarrity who married Isabella Laveni Preston, his dad was William McGarrity who married Lavinia Hill, his dad was John McGarrity who married Margaret Murray and also Mary Henderson and his dad was James McGarrity who married Elizabeth Pettigrew.
There you are so with all the names in between we are related.
So tell me more about who went to America and what children they had. Its great now to have someone else in the family circle.
