Hello,
This is a general post for information about the McGarity clan as they might relate to Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennennsee.
My great-grandfather Rev. William B. (Barnett?) McGarity was likely born/raised in Kentucky/Tennennsee, and possibly worked as pastor in Jellico, TN. His wife from Kentucky was Ray Osborne, and the two of them moved to Hillsboro, TX. Eventually they moved to Belton, TX, where Rev. McGarity passed away in 1916.
They have five children:
William Ray McGarity (born c. 1896)
Francenia McGarity (c. 1900)
Jesse Lee McGarity (1906) ---> my grandfather
Tom O. McGarity (aft. 1906)
Christine McGarity (1909)
Jesse Lee lived and worked in Austin, TX, where he passed away in 1964. William apparently lived in Houston, TX, Francenia eventually in Wichita Falls, TX, Tom somewhere in Louisiana, and Christine passed away in Oklahoma City after living in Ft. Worth, TX.
If anyone can share a connection with the above names, I would appreciate talking to you more about it.
