That is very useful information. I'd seen bits and pieces of it before, but not all together like that. I'd suggest you look very hard at Union Co. SC. There are a lot of records published in book form by Brent Holcomb. I've not searched them for McGarrity. I'll keep my eye open for that name as this is an interesting cousin branch that doesn't seem to have been well documented. Also, Elbert Co. GA should be investigated. The Murphy families did tend to stick together somewhat. And how many generations that lasted is unknown.A lot of Murphys went to Fayette Co., GA after 1830 and you might find something there.
