John Richard McGarity was my great grandfather. I have no other information further back than him. It is family legend there were three sons. John Richard, Kit Carson and one other brother that I do not have a name for. John settled in Louisiana, Kit settled in Arkansas and the other brother settled in Texas. They never saw each other again and lost track of one another. After John died, Kit found John's children. They had a family reunion and Kit died shortly after. I have a picture of Kit with John's children taken at this reunion. I am trying to obtain the names of their parents and the other brother's name. Where did this family come from?
