The name problem started around or before 1974 in Texas and has grown to the point it has been accepted as fact, even on the offical Fayetteville, AR web site. I didn't plan on coming out as strong as I did. I know it isn't your fault. My intent was to incourage people stop and look at actual records before accepting even published genealogies as fact. Look at court, census, land, military, church, marriage, birth, and death records. If the records don't verify the information don't use it.
As my father used to say, "If a lie is repeated often enough, long enough, and loud enough it will be accepted as fact but still won't be true."
