Hi James,
I would be interested in knowing the place Abner is buried. All I have is he died 1828 in DeKalb Co, GA.
He is my g g g g grandfather and I did not even know his first name was James. Thanks. Also, no documentation, no research done, but on a world tree I found the name of John McGarity Sr born in Ireland as Abner's father. And on the same tree Patrick McGarity born in Ireland, d 1721 in Surry County, VA listed as John's father. I question all of this as most sources list Abner born in Ireland OR America, so obviously if Abner was born in Ireland, John and Patrick could not be in his line. But, you never know, sometimes they came to America, went back, and came to America again.
