McGahan Grandparents in Ireland
Posted by: William McGahan (ID *****7089) Date: March 27, 2002 at 14:19:55

Seeking information on family of greatgrandfather William James McGahan bn 08-04-1858 at Reaghstown, County Louth, Ireland, son of John McGahan and Catharine Kelley. Married: Mary Foley bn 02-??-1863, place unknown, daughter of Martin Foley and Catharine Jacks (last known location St. Louis, MO). William and Mary homesteaded in Perkins County, NE, and both died there ... she in 1917, he in 1941. He had several siblings and uncles/aunts who emigrated from Ireland. Among them Mary McGahan McDonnell (sometimes also spelled McDonald) who, with her husband Owen also homesteaded in Perkins County. They returned to Boston in the late 1890s because of drought and contact was lost with them. Would like information on any of the family of John & Catharine Kelley McGahan of Reaghstown, Ireland.
