Hello there! My name is Gwen McFerrin Hoffmann.

The father of B.E. McFerrin (I) is John B. McFerrin (dob 3-7-1836) There is some confusion as to what B. stands for Blackburn or Baird. My McFerrin Grandparents are still living and say it is Baird. My grandfather (95 yrs old this year) McFerrin's father was Joseph Henry McFerrin (1876).

John B. McFerrin's father is John B (again Blackburn or Baird ?) McFerrin (1806, SC) whose father was Archibald (1759, NC, died in Alabama)

I beleive the B. to stand for Baird because my grandfather had a brother named Baird...

Hope this is helpful. I have more info if you need it.

The McFerrin's in this area have been buried in the -McFerrin Family Cemetery, Compton, Newton Co., AR http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ar/newton/cemeteries/mcferrin.txt. -The Hilltop Cemetery, Hilltop community, Boone Co., AR; or the -Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, Boone Co., AR
