I would love to see all the different ways you have seen your family's name spelled. This makes the search much harder, but also more interesting. I found my Joseph in 1850 spelled McFarren, in 1860 - M.Feren, in 1870 - McPhurin (and Ancestry had it under McPherson), and in 1880 McFerrin.
